Thought I would try out my new account with Viddler by ranting about a screenwriting book that I hate and one that I love. Kind of threw it together fast so it ain’t “all that” nor is it the definitive source on what you should buy if you’re in the market for books on screenwriting…so be kind.

Just moved to the big bad city of Los Angeles and am going to try my hand at being awesome. Yeah, definitely go with How Not To Write A Screenplay. It has pretty much stood the test of time over all the other books that I've been assigned in film school. I really wished my professors had been better about picking books for our screenwriting classes, instead of ordering shit heaps like the one I presented in the video.
In the intro to HNTWAS, the author pretty much tells you where he's coming from, that he's not a doctor, nor has he written anything wildly successful; but rather, he's had to read a shit ton of feature length screenplays and has found people make the same mistakes.
